About Coils

One of the beauties of the M&M range of solenoid valves is that there are only two different sizes of coil, keeping costs to a minimum and providing maximum inter-changeability across the range.

Each coil type is available in 12vDC, 24vDC, 24v/50-60, 110v/50—120v/60, 200v/50-220/60 and 230/50-240/60 as standard with other voltages available on request.

As standard the coils are insulation class F with class H and UL approval available as an option. They are all rated for continuous duty conforming to EN60730 safety standards and have a protection class of IP65 when used with the appropriate connector.

The coil is directly assembled on an armature tube with an armature or moving core inside. This is assembled hermetically on to the valve body. The moving core is held in the correct position by a counter spring. When the coil is energised, the armature is attracted by its magnetic field and the main seal either opens or closes leaving a passage through the valve orifice.
